Spring Break Events In The Valley

    Spring break is almost here! Are you going out of state or looking for events to attend with the kids? We have compiled a great list of kid-friendly spring break events in and around the valley for the whole family to enjoy!

    Free Movies at Scottsdale Quarters

    Every Friday at the Scottsdale Quarter, bring your chair or blankets to enjoy a movie for free!

    Run to Fight Children’s Cancer

    Run to Fight Children’s Cancer is the largest race in Arizona dedicated solely to pediatric cancer. The eighth annual event features a 10K, 5K and Cancer Survivors Walk. Enjoy vendors, arts and crafts, jump castles, music and more.  Proceeds are donated directly to Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Children’s Cancer Network.

    The Ostrich Festival

    The 30th annual event kick off at 7:30 a.m. with the Mayor’s Fun Run followed by a Festival Parade in downtown Chandler with marching bands, dance groups, antique cars and floats. The Ostrich Festival hits the ground running March 9-11 in Tumbleweed Park with carnival rides, games, food, petting zoo, ostrich races, and live entertainment. The entertainment includes Grammy-winning Kool & The Gang, John Michael Montgomery and The Beach Boys. 


    There is a new spring family festival at the Desert Botanical Garden. Hear nature tales, make a treat for butterflies, and dance to live music like you have wings of your own.

    Scottsdale Arts Festival

    This three-day celebration of art, music, food and family fun has been recognized as one of the top art fairs in the country. Enjoy 170 selected artists, continuous live music and entertainment, gourmet food trucks and the Local First Arizona Marketplace. Plus, tons of creative activities for kids at the Imagine Nation Family area and free admission to Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

    The Arizona Young Artists’ Competition

    Come watch aspiring young artists compete in the disciplines of acting, dance, musical theatre voice and classical voice. Audience members will have a chance to vote for their favorite performer in the People’s Choice Awards. The winner in each category will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

    Arizona Renaissance Festival

    The Arizona Renaissance Festival is a Renaissance-themed amusement park and Renaissance fair in Arizona located in Apache Junction east of the Phoenix metro area near Gold Canyon. Fairgrounds feature a 13-stage theater, a 30-acre circus, regularly scheduled jousting tournaments, and a feast.

    The Artisan Marketplace is located throughout the park in which merchants from around the nation sell many different kinds of hand-made or period-themed goods. Other staples of the park include a petting zoo, live performances, and food.

    Zoo Move and Groove 5K

    Celebrate getting healthy and staying fit — with an animal twist. The 5K run/walk is 7-9:30 a.m. at Papago Park and the Move and Groove Fitness Festival is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Phoenix Zoo. Festival activities included with regular zoo admission.

    Kids Fest at the OdySea Aquarium

    OdySea Aquarium is launching Kids Fest! Enjoy meet-and-greet opportunities in our theater (with some of your favorite characters from Frozen, Moana, Zootopia) and play in our Kids’ Cove.  You can also build your own under the sea slime, enjoy a spin art table, LEGO free play, and robotics!

    Arizona Aloha Festival

    Experience the sights, sounds and flavors of Hawaiian culture. Songs and dances from the islands, traditional crafts, leis and travel information.

    Whether you are looking for a mini-staycation or just a quick family outing this spring break, there are plenty of events in the valley to suit your needs!
